Who I Am
I'm Chris Dobis, and I'm running for State Representative because I believe in the strength and potential of our communities — Garden City, Inkster, Northern Romulus, and Westland. Together, we can build something great.
I'm committed to creating opportunities for every family, supporting our local businesses, investing in our schools, and making District 26 a place where everyone can thrive. I will work every single day to deliver results for the hardworking people of this district.

Why I'm Running
I've spent more than 25 years in the engineering field, working in Michigan's auto industry — solving real problems, working as part of a team, and being held accountable for results.
I never planned to run for office. But I've called District 26 home since 1988, and I've watched our state get worse year after year. I can't stay on the sidelines anymore.
I have adult children. Like every parent in this district, I want them to build their lives close to home. Instead, families across Michigan are watching their kids leave — for better paychecks somewhere else, for neighborhoods that feel safer, for schools they trust to give their grandkids a real future.
That's not the Michigan I grew up in. And it's not the Michigan I'm willing to hand to the next generation.
I'm not running to be a career politician. I'm running because the people of District 26 deserve someone who will fight for them — not for the next election.

See My Priorities →What I Stand For
Give our Westland, Garden City, and Inkster police departments and the Wayne County Sheriff's substation in Romulus the staffing and equipment they need to keep response times down and crime rates low — and back the officers who patrol our neighborhoods instead of tying their hands.
Push Wayne-Westland Community Schools, Garden City Public Schools, and Romulus Community Schools back to the basics on reading and math, keep parents in the loop on what's taught in the classroom, and expand career and technical pathways so kids can walk into a good-paying trade or Wayne County Community College without leaving the district.
Fight the DTE and Consumers Energy rate hikes hitting every household bill, push back on Lansing spending that drives up your property taxes, and cut the state waste that's making gas and groceries cost more than they should.
Cut the permitting delays and red tape that make it harder to open or expand a local shop, and lower the state taxes and licensing burdens standing between our entrepreneurs and their next hire.
Our Communities
District 26 is home to hardworking people and strong communities. I'm committed to representing every resident with integrity and dedication.
